We have been working hard for the past 2 years setting new standards for what ice cream can and should be (dairy free, natural, and plant-based).

Pink Albatross has had a strong early response and we are ready to scale our business!

We want to give our community of customers, consumers, and supporters the opportunity to participate in the success they helped create!

Who we are



Luke wants to encourage people to adopt a plant-based lifestyle and believes that providing great-tasting alternatives is the best way to do so. 



Pepe’s daughter suffers from several allergies and he faced a lot of frustration when looking for foods that she could eat safely. 



Together, we started Pink Albatross for different reasons but were united by a common objective: providing creamy and delicious plant-based ice creams that anybody can eat.  

Our Why

As a company, we want to help put an end to an era of excessively industrialized food, where profit and low prices prevail over quality. For too long, we have consumed things that aren’t good for us, the planet,  or the animals and we have paid a steep price. 


Our union as entrepreneurs is based on our personal dissatisfaction and frustration with the inability to find desserts that are delicious AND that don’t have a never-ending list of unrecognizable ingredients, cause allergies, or contain animal products.

What we do

Our company mission is to redefine our relationship with food by making room for the good stuff. We make food tastier, cleaner and plant-based. 

We make decadent plant-based ice creams using clean-label ingredients and supply both retail and foodservice channels. 

Our claim to fame is our motto, “Made with ingredients you can draw”. 

This means that we only use natural ingredients everyone is familiar with, which is why you won’t find anything strange on our ingredient list or numbers that begin with the letter “E”. 

“Made with ingredients you can draw” also means authenticity and refers to the genuine flavour in our ice cream, be it mango, hazelnut, or coconut. For flavouring, we only use generous quantities of the main ingredient, not artificial flavours or aromas.

The future
is sweet!

Ice cream is a large category (€21B in Europe) growing at 5% p.a. but plant-based ice cream is growing even faster and is expected to reach €500 million in 5 years. 

Plant-based milk and plant-based meats changed their respective categories; the same fate awaits ice cream. If you can have a product that has all the goodness (taste/texture)  of dairy without any of the drawbacks (environment / animals / health), wouldn’t you choose the alternative

Equity crowdfunding is the process whereby people (i.e. the ‘crowd’) invest in an early-stage unlisted company (a company that is not listed on a stock market) in exchange for shares in that company. A shareholder has partial ownership of a company and stands to profit on an Exit Event (i.e. IPO, merger or sale) should the company continue to perform well and increase in value. The opposite is also true, so if the company fails, investors can lose some, or all, of their investment.

Pink Albatross has been funded by the two co-founders (Pepe and Luke), Tech Transfer Agrifood (who have invested in companies like Heura and Smileat), Katjes Greenfood (the corporate VC belonging to Kates, the German confectionery giant) and angel investors (ex-Nestlé employees). 

You may make a profit in the future by selling your shares for a higher price. There are a few ways this could happen: a.) listing your shares for sale in Cubex (Crowdcube´s secondary marketplace where sellers and buyers can negotiate a purchase/sale price) b.) a liquidity event such as an acquisition where a buyer offers to buy all or part of Pink Albatross´ outstanding shares c.) a public listing in equity markets d.) share buybacks (the company buys back the shares from you). We are currently raising funds to fuel our expansion plans which include developing new products, investing in sales and marketing efforts, scaling, and international expansion. 

Our Crowdcube campaign will be open to the public on the 15th of Dec, after which you can invest at any time during the next 30 days.

Anyone over the age of 18 from anywhere in the world. However, due to local laws and regulations, retail investors located in the USA, Canada and Japan will not be able to invest in this crowdfunding. 

The minimum amount will be set shortly and will be very reasonable as we want all of our fans and supporters to participate in our growth. The amount will be communicated via email once you register for early access.The maximum amount is EUR50,000.

Once the pitch (or investment opportunity) reaches its target and closes to further funding, the completion process starts. At that point, all investors will receive a copy of the Legal Review via email and will be informed of the cooling off period (a period where you can decide if you want to proceed with your investment). Once the cooling off period, which is generally no less than seven days, has expired, the payment collections process starts and then electronic share certificates are issued.

The company was incorporated in December 2018 and made its first sale in June of 2019.

The company is based in Spain.

We use generous proportions of the “hero”/main ingredient (e.g. mango in mango ice cream)  which gives our ice cream their genuine and authentic taste.

We are plant-based, which means we avoid the thorny issues related to health, environmental, and animal rights that typically come with consuming dairy ice cream. 

We distribute our products directly and indirectly through distributors to stores (supermarket and specialty stores), restaurants, and through quick commerce apps (such as Getir and Dija). We are currently present in over 400 points of sale.

We develop (directly and through partnerships), market and commercialize  (directly and through partnerships) plant-based ice cream.

Currently there are 6 employees with a confirmed new hire (a food scientist) joining in Jan 2022. Our team has a diverse skill set and bring in a wealth of experience gained in food companies such as Mondelez, Kraft-Heinz, and Danone.

Our growth strategy is based on distribution and internationalization. We are also focussed on developing new products and flavours which will help increase consumer appeal for the brand.

Hiring people, investing in R&D, marketing and commercialization efforts.

Pink refers to the fact that our product is natural and therefore a healthier option (pink = healthy, as in “pink cheeks”) and the albatross is a symbol that represents the founders that are immigrants in Spain, who like the bird, have traveled great distances across the world.
